So You Wanna Work In Adult!?
One of my friends in the adult industry Mark (Mandy Mischief and a ton of other sites) just sent me a wicked article called X-rated: Getting a tech job in the adult industry. It describes in detail what the current situation of the online adult industry is and how one might get a job in there.
It turns out that porn is still a subject that many will not speak freely about and therefore it’s quite hard to get a job there. And it’s actually very true, most of the successful people I know in the adult industry are the ones that started on their own making porn sites promoting other peoples’ premium porn sites and then later invested in their own porn paysites.
Your best bet on breaking into the adult industry is to start searching for information and start building sites. Then when you got a portfolio of things you’ve done you’ll have a much greater chance of getting design/programming jobs my buddy mark tells me. There are tons of adult industry companies that are looking for talented people all the time, so if you got a sleazy programmer set him free and get the job you always wanted!
